EotWI Interactive Pilot: [PT3] Introductions
You survived the closet encounter. Now Adam and Alex offer (some) answers and a critical choice. The EotWI pilot concludes.
You’ve survived so far…
“Don’t take this the wrong way,” Adam finally says, breaking the silence with his usual dryness, “but I genuinely wasn’t expecting you to last this long. Most... don't."
You blink. "Most?"
Adam snorts, ignoring your question for a moment. “Don’t judge me. I’ve got a lot going on right now.” He glances back at the closet and shivers dramatically. “Space spiders still fuck me up.”
He turns away, starting to pace in tight circles like he’s trying to physically wrestle his thoughts into order. Alex steps forward slightly, her gaze direct.
“You’re an anomaly,” she states, her voice more clinical than Adam’s but just as intense. “A deviation in the baseline. You’re not one of Wrath’s puppets—they have a distinct energy signature, twitchy.” She nods towards Adam. “We’ve done this once or twice.”
Adam stops pacing. “Look,” he says, cutting straight to it, dropping the sarcasm for a beat. “Your presence here, now, means all of this is degrading faster than predicted. Timelines are fraying.” He runs a hand through his hair. “Which brings us to the actual problem: Alex.”
He glances at her, a fracture of something deep and protective in his eyes, gone almost instantly. “My… efforts… to stabilize her presence in this reality rely on specific parameters holding. I’ve pulled this timeline mostly back into alignment”—he adds with a ghost of his usual smirk, “Pride powers, baby—but for the fix to stick, the sequence needs to complete with certain variables intact. Namely, you.”
Alex picks up the thread, matter-of-factly. “Your survival directly determines whether I live or die.” A slight, unsettlingly nonchalant pause. “I don’t envy you. Last guy in your shoes… well, they say that you can still hear his screams if you listen closely.”
Adam looks back at you, the weight returning to his expression. “So, no pressure, but everything hinges on you making it through the next phase. We need to get to the anchor point.” He gestures vaguely, then digs into his coat, pulling out something that looks like a compass fused with a USB stick. He slaps it into your palm. It hums faintly.
“You’ve got two choices,” he says, the usual weariness back in his tone. “You can follow us to the Anchor point, observe quietly, help fix this mess. Or you can stay here, wait for the apocalypse to actually start, and see what crawls out of the closet next.”
What do you do?
Go with Adam and Alex. Even if they're definitely cursed and probably unreliable. Continue to EotWI: Part 6

You Died.
Void demons, space witches, and giant soul-eating spiders apocalypse-d the whole earth, idiot. Should’ve gone with the god guy—or listened to the Narrator, depending on how you got here.
Your shoes, if they hadn't already, finish melting into the floor. A cold hand crawls up your spine like it forgot what bodies are supposed to look like.
You think: maybe this is fine.
It isn’t.
