Thank you! I'm not at all holding anyone hostage and forcing them to subscribe; they're most certainly not all in my attic, either. In case you were wondering.

But really, I could say that I don't know how it happened, but I do. I've been racking my brain about it for a bit now; it's the unintentionally perfect combination of minimal SEO knowledge, a good hook post (this one is a good example. Something that will hook new readers) and genuine interactions.

I think we're used to seeing comments and replies that are strictly for engagement metrics. I, personally, am terrible at numbers games and have a very limited capacity for socializing—when I comment or reply, it's either because I have something to add, or a simple acknowledgement. But it's always because I want to.

Hook new people with a post, show them that you're not performing for an algorithm, and they might stick around. That is the only explanation I can think of. lol
