I've also noticed your two points! Like, I think that building a brand on 'how to build a brand' is definitely a valid strategy, and necessary. But, dang, don't everyone start doing it at once 😅 That's what it feels like happens here. It's very easy to spot the people that have built something useful versus, what I refer to as 'Columbus Cadets'—the ones that discovered SEO this morning. LOL
A wave of new users with no plan for posting anything at all → See 'how to get good, rookie' posts do really well! → Begins doing middle-school report level research → Has AI write them a 'how to' guide using NONE of the information the came across on their journey, contains absolutely ZERO sources or credits to other creators → copy-paste → done.
